About Me: About Me

Classroom Relations

Personality

Personality can affect our relationships in the classroom. Our personalities impact the ways in which we approach things and respond to situations.  This is why I strive to meet the individual needs of each scholar.
I aim to be adaptable.  Adaptability is important in the classroom for many reasons.  It is important to make adjustments throughout the day to ensure smooth progress and maximum learning.  I will work to meet the needs of campers and make necessary changes to maximize learning. I am determined to see our campers learn.  No matter what obstacles we may face, there is always a way for every camper to successfully learn. I will not give up until each camper reaches their goal. I understand that campers may sometimes face difficult obstacles.  Life does not always go as planned.  I am here for our campers and families.  I strive to show empathy in all situations. We are a team and I aim to work closely with families, through all situations and circumstances. For this reason, communication is vital. I understand that there will be times that we need to modify assignments, extend deadlines, or work together to meet academic, social, behavioral, emotional needs. Please do not hesitate to contact at any time. You are welcome to visit the classroom in the morning, set up same day phone conferences, or same week classroom conference.

Learning Styles

Differences Among Learners

We all learn differently.  Some of us may learn better with visual aids.  Others need to learn hands on.  People can be active or reflective learners, visual or verbal, and learn sequentially or globally.  I find myself towards the middle of these learning styles.  I feel this puts me in a unique position to help campers learn.  I understand the different ways that individuals learn and can change my teaching techniques to meet the needs of each camper.  No matter what abilities your camper may have or which topics they may struggle with, we will take the time to ensure their success.

About Me: Body

Educational Philosophy

All educators have different teaching philosophies.  Progressivism is an educational philosophy that focuses on the whole child.  I agree with this philosophy in many ways.  I feel that as educators, it is our job to teach how to learn rather than what to learn.  We need to give children the tools to learn as they continue to grow and engage in the world around them.  I aim to make scholars of my campers and create life-long learners.  I aim to create environments where campers learn by doing and leave with a passion for knowledge.
